Economic Viability
Pacifica needs an economic development strategy that strengthens local employment, supports family-oriented businesses, and expands affordable housing through mixed-use development. We should preserve and enhance existing visitor-serving businesses while attracting destination-style, experiential retail that brings more visitors to Pacifica. Our commercial centers need redevelopment plans that keep more retail spending local and encourage visitors drawn to Pacifica’s recreational and natural assets to stay longer and support complementary businesses. I will work closely with the Economic Development Director to develop and implement a comprehensive plan with clear annual goals, measurable performance metrics, and accountability.
Climate Resilience That Protects Our Homes And The Coast
Pacifica can adapt to climate impacts with smart planning, responsible land-use decisions, and nature-based solutions (NBS) that preserve our shoreline and natural beauty. Bond Measure 4 makes $10B available for NBS protections that Pacifica needs to access before it is all gone. We are all paying for this and Pacifica has not applied for any funding. NBS protections offer us the opportunity to protect our current homes and infrastructure.

Housing That Supports A Healthy Community
Pacifica should provide housing opportunities for working families, seniors, teachers, and especially city staff while protecting neighborhood character, environmental resources, and infrastructure capacity. Un-hosted STRs need to be severely restricted in order to preserve our housing stock and stop the decimation of our school system by providing more housing to families. Development should never be considered in ecological hazard zones, like the Pedro Point Field and Higgins Road/San Pedro Mountain. Public property should serve the community’s interests - not simply maximize private profit. We need to prioritize better deals to ensure working families can continue to call Pacifica home and utilize union labor for all public/private partnerships.
Fiscal Responsibility & Responsive Local Government
Pacifica’s leaders must make disciplined and transparent budget decisions that protect long-term financial stability while supporting essential services, local businesses, and a healthy economy. Residents also deserve a city government that is open, accountable, and willing to engage the community early and often in decision-making. City leadership and staff must listen to residents, respect community input, and ensure that the voice of the people shapes the decisions that affect our neighborhoods.
Open and transparent communication with the community will be my priority as a city council member. I will form a committee of neighborhood leaders to vet ideas and listen to concerns because we are all in this together.
Sharp Park Golf Course serves as a protected species habitat and is a vital recreational asset in the city of Pacifica. With over 55,000 rounds of golf played each year, we need to capitalize on these visitors to explore and shop in Pacifica to strengthen our tax base.

Our parks, wildlife habitats, ecosystems, and legacy businesses are part of what makes Pacifica unique, and they deserve strong protection. These environmental and cultural assets also help drive a visitor-serving economy, creating opportunities for local businesses to thrive while preserving the character that draws people to Pacifica.
Reliable Infrastructure and Services
Pacifica needs well-maintained streets, utilities, and essential services that are efficient, resilient, and environmentally responsible. We should establish a clear system for prioritizing infrastructure investments based on need and condition, ensuring that the streets and facilities requiring the most attention are addressed first.
Infrastructure needs to be improved in order to protect our community from the hazards of climate change.
We need to assure our firefighters, police, and public works are fully funded and trained for any emergency.
Strong Emergency Preparedness
Pacifica must be prepared for climate-related disasters and major emergencies through proactive planning, smart investment, and responsible land-use decisions. We should avoid new development in ecological hazards zones and look for opportunities to use undeveloped areas to provide greater protection for surrounding homes, infrastructure, and the community as a whole.
Arts, Culture, and Identity
Pacifica should be known not only for its natural beauty, but also as a vibrant center of arts, recreation, and culture. The preservation of our community assets is paramount to the vitality of our city.
Businesses like the Sea Bowl that are traditional family gathering places also generate substantial revenue and taxes. They should be preserved so our community can stop losing its cultural and economic identity.
